Loon & Newboro Lakes

The area is noted for Large and Smallmouth Bass as well as pike. Pickerel, trout, lakers and perch are also plentiful.

People often ask us how the fishing is off the dock. We don't fish but fishermen often park their boats close to our shore.  A young renter caught this fish in our boathouse last week. They called it the boathouse bass.

Newboro lake is one minute away by boat. Clear and Indian lakes are close by. The Big Rideau can be reached via the 1 lock at Newboro. People come from large parts of the US every yearto fish. They have fish lodges on Newboro lake and guides bring people out to Loon lake all the time. We have docking space for multiple boats. A rowboat and canoe is available for fishing.

Boat Launch
Public boat launch available in Newboro at Lock Road. You can usually leave your trailer there for the week. There is also a shallow launch on HWY 10 (0.5kms North of Massasauga Road). This shallow launch would be suitable for small fishing boats.

Boat Rentals
Boat rentals are available at  Newboro (closest), Chaffey's Lock, and Westport.
